Why Anna Dello Russo is my 16th Best Dressed of the Year: Anna Dello Russo is just so cool! She's not one of those people who find a style they're comfortable with and stick with it for the rest of their lives. No, despite being almost 50 years old, she is new thinking, and her outfits are always interesting and up-to-date!

What's going on here?

This is weird. The covers are almost identical, and it seems very unlikely that Vogue would let another magazine use one of their old covers... And why would Elle even want to?

The two magazines aren't even part of the same publishing house, so there really is no reason for them to share photos. The case might be that Vogue doesn't own the rights to the photo, but that the photographer Peter Lindbergh does... But then the question remains: Why would Elle want a hand-me-down cover?

Teen Vogue Fashion University: The Seminars

The Teen Vogue Fashion U was amazing. And so was New York! I loved it all so much and it really was one of the best experiences of my life. I just had a blast all weekend! Michael Kors, Chris Benz, Amy Astley, Peter Som and the Who What Wear ladies were my favorites, so I thought I�d tell you a little about those seminars.

Michael Kors:
He was very well prepared and everything he said seemed genuine and honest. He gave great advice and pressed the importance of working hard and not giving up, but at the same time he was easygoing and the seminar was entertaining and interesting from beginning to end. Everything he said was just spot on; he talked about how you couldn�t understand our love for fashion if you hadn�t been �bitten by the bug� and it�s just so true. He was incredibly insightful and it was like he really understood what we were feeling because he had been in our situation once.

 

Chris Benz:
I laughed so much during this seminar. He and Teen Vogue editor Andrew Bevan (who was doing the interview) were close friends in real life and they were just so relaxed and spontaneous and hilarious. He talked about how he desperately needed to get out of Seattle when he was a teenager and experience the world (I can just relate so much to that), how he came to NYC and started at Parsons, and about starting his own line, etc.

Amy Astley:
All the Teen Vogue editors were great, really! They made up such an incredible team and it seemed like the perfect working environment. Editor Danielle Nussbaum covered celebrity fashion and that field seems so interesting - that may very well be my dream job - wow! Amy Astley was probably one of the most down-to-earth persons I�ve ever met, and I felt like her take on fashion was a lot like mine: we don�t judge other people by it, we don�t die for it, but it�s fascinating and intriguing and the industry is about more than just clothes. I bought her book The Teen Vogue Hand Book � An Insider�s Guide to Careers in Fashion and I read a lot of it during my very long flight back home. There is some great advice in there, I really recommend it!

 

Peter Som:
Peter Som was a lot funnier than I thought. He seemed natural and relaxed, and talked about things like how extremely shy he was as a child and how he hung out with all the geeks in high school. He was very honest and personal and that made the seminar interesting. And he gave a great summary of his experiences and his career (the ups and downs, and how you need to hang in there) and it was just very inspirational.

Who What Wear:
This was a seminar about Fashion in the Digital Age with the Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power (Who What Wear), Aliza Licht (DKNY), Rich Tong (Tumblr) and Susan Koger (ModCloth), but I thought that the Who What Wear ladies really stood out, or maybe it�s just because I follow their blog religiously, but I loved what they had to say. Just like the Teen Vogue panel, they seem like such an incredible team that anyone would be lucky to be a part of.

I'm off to New York for the Teen Vogue Fashion University! I'll be back in Paris on Tuesday so then I'll give you all an update on how it was. Wish me luck!

ANTM: Kelly Cutrone replaces Andr� Leon Talley

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Kelly Cutrone (founder of People's Revolution and known from The Hills and The City) was replacing Andr� Leon Talley (Vogue's former editor-at-large) in America's Next Top Model judge panel.

Cutrone hopes to "bring a different perspective to the show" and considering who she is, I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem. She's just what America's Next Top Model needs! Even though I love Andr� Leon Talley, I understand the switch - Cutrone's harsh, fearless and says whatever comes to mind; frankly, I love her attitude. She won't take pity on those models when they have their meltdowns and the show definitely needs that. Basically: she'll be hilarious to watch.

Teen Vogue Fashion University

I found out a few days ago that I had been accepted to the Teen Vogue Fashion University Class of 2011 and I'm soooo excited! This year's seminars include, for example, Michael Kors, Whitney Port, Jason Wu, Amy Astley, Chris Benz, Rachel Roy, Betsey Johnson, Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang, and it would be incredible to see some of these people speak! And I would finally get to see New York! I really hope I'll be able to go!

Marc Jacobs and Mario Testino talk about Kate Moss and her wedding

I love this video of Marc Jacobs, Candy Pratts Price, Mario Sorrenti, Camilla Nickerson and Mario Testino talking about Kate Moss, or rather, praising her. Marc talks about how "very, very rare, if not totally unique" she is, while Testino talks about how "she's a perfume, not a cologne" (of course...) and Nickerson says that Kate's wedding "was one of the best nights of [her] life."

The clips from their wedding are adorable. She and Jamie look SO CUTE together! It almost makes me want to barf how in love they seem to be though. Then again, if there's one day when you're allowed to be disgustingly happy and rub it in everyone's faces I guess that would be on your wedding day.

But the best part of the video is obviously Marc Jacobs. SO HOT! If there were ever a reason I'd want to be a guy, it would be so I could date him. And oooh, his voice. I love his voice. Such a perfect human being.

Anna Wintour's Obama party

You may have heard that Anna Wintour hosted a party for Barack Obama in New York yesterday to raise money for his campaign, but, have you heard what the tickets cost? - Wait for it... wait for it - $35,800 each. That didn't stop celebs like Alicia Keys, Vera Wang, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow from attending though. Then again, it was for a great cause and they can afford it, so why not? The president himself stayed for about two hours, which, in my opinion, is a little lame. I mean, he left around 9 pm, from what was basically his own party. I realize he has a busy life and whatnot, but he could've at least stayed until 11 pm.

This ten-year-old is causing quite a stir in the Fashion Industry

As you've probably heard, the rather controversial photos of ten-year-old french model Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau has caused many people to complain. She's been featured in Vogue Enfants and French Vogue, and people are upset about the fact that they're sexualizing a child.

On the other hand, there are also many who think that people are over reacting and shouldn't read so much into it. Personally I don't think the photos are that bad. I understand that people are reacting when a ten-year-old girl is portrayed with sex appeal, but in my opinion these photos are fashionable, not sexual.

Anyway, now the mother of the child is responding to the critique. This is what she wrote on Thylane's facebook page:

"hey guys im the mum of thylane something going �s wrong at the moment with thylane and bad personn in usa about pictures she make�s 8 months ago for vogue ,,thylane doesn�t know about the buzz and i want to protect her from the deapest of my heart ,,, she�s so young ,, so we are going to close this accompte for a while ,,i know all of you are good person who like her so i send you a big kiss,,thanks"

SJP in American Vogue

Sara Jessica Parker is on the cover of American Vogue this month. She and her family were photographed by Mario Testino and as usual his photos are, in a word: incredible. I recommend you to buy the magazine and read the long interview with SJP, which focuses mainly on how she juggles work, home and sanity. Otherwise, here are the interview highlights: 

�I tried to make myself look more presentable today, but the odds of not being, when I leave the house in the morning, are pretty high.� She says  �Bradshaw�s life is nothing�nothing�like mine. I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I�m not a crazy shoe lady, I don�t think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry�

�We don�t have any live-in help. We�re pretty hands-on parents. That�s something that�s important to both of us, and we don�t shirk it, because what�s the point in having a family if you�re not going to really participate in it, you know?�

�The beautiful thing about New York is, you have to expose yourself to other people the minute you step outside the door. There is no choice. And I love that.� (Yes! That�s one of the many reasons why I want to live there).

"If I didn't have kids, I would be at the theater or the ballet every single night of my life,"

�My father used to tell me not to stare all the time, because I was always staring at everyone, and he would say, �You�re making a spectacle.� But I couldn�t help myself.�

�I love the opportunity to wear something really special and go to a wonderful event at some great cultural institution. Not to sound too Pollyanna about it, but I really didn�t imagine when I was a little girl that I would be there to see it all myself.�

�I�m a bitter-ender. It�s potentially my fatal flaw that I do not give up on something. I will not rest. I work and work and work until I can no longer and someone has to remove me from the premises.�

"I�m like that two weeks into every movie. But the beauty of nerves is that you can always find a comrade in it. When Pierce [Brosnan] came, he was a nervous wreck! Of course, by then I was really relaxed, but I was so comforted by it.�

�I don�t know how to even telescope the future, except to say that I like to be an actor and I like to be a working actor and I don�t know how long I�ll be doing that, but it seems to stretch itself out in front of me more than I thought.�

�Oh, my God, it�s 11:59. I�m going to run home and change clothes because I have to be at a business meeting at 12:00.�

Wow, I can really relate to a lot of what she says, except the kids-parts � I�m not exactly a kids-person... I love Sarah Jessica Paker. I love her look - she's so beautiful, I love her style, I love her work. I love everything about her - except maybe her taste in men.
