Miley Cyrus Shows Off Her Inner-Grunge Love

Treating herself to a relaxing weekend, Miley Cyrus was spotted making her way around Studio City, California on Saturday afternoon (October 8).

The former "Hannah Montana" star showed off her inner-grunge spirit as she was all decked out in a sleeveless Kurt Cobain t-shirt paying tribute to the late Nirvana rocker.

The hometown outing comes after a busy past few weeks of travel, as Miley has recently paid visits to Nashville, TN and the still rebuilding county of Haiti.

Of the Haiti trip, which was for the Starkey Hearing Foundation, the 18-year-old tweeted, This second mission to Haiti was just as impactful to me as the first one. I grew up around music and couldnt imagine what it would be like for my siblings and me, if we couldnt hear the magic of music. Its had such an influence on my life, that I just want everyone to enjoy sound as it was intended."

Miley Cyrus: Provocative Pet Store Shopper

Getting the week underway with a midday shopping excursion, Miley Cyrus was busy browsing the offerings at a local pet store in Studio City, California on Monday (September 26).

Joined by a gal pal, the "Can't Be Tamed" singer continued forth with her penchant for provocative attire while clad in a see-through white tank top and high hip hugging denim shorts to show off her gorgeous gams.

And while her often risque ways may upset the older crowd who's young children look up to the former "Hannah Montana" star, Miley recently told Prestige magazine that she's not going to let the critics influence her decision making.

The 18-year-old said, "People see me as this perfect Disney star, and the moment I put out a record that says 'I'm not 11 years old anymore,' people look down on me."

"Every 18-year-old explores sexuality and experiments and tries things. For me there's no reason to change that. You have to be true to yourself," Cyrus added.

Miley Cyrus says her family is fine

Miley Cyrus says she feels more at ease heading out on an international tour now that things are fine on the home front.

Earlier this year, her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, were getting a divorce, and her father was critical of his daughter's behavior. But the Cyruses recently called of their divorce and the family is spending time together.

"I think it's good, especially when you go on the road. You have to make sure everyone is happy before you start traveling, you're away. My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I'm happy they are happy," Cyrus said in an interview on Thursday.

The former "Hannah Montana" star is leaving for South America and Australia on April 27 for her Gypsy Heart Tour. It will be the first time Cyrus, whose most recent album is titled "Can't Be Tamed," has gone to South America, and she's excited even though she won't be able to communicate with her fans in their language.

"I speak zero Spanish. I actually failed Spanish so I will have someone with me making sure I can get through my way," she said.

She recently released one of the album's songs, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," in Australia, and said she's excited to sing the Poison cover (which featured Bret Michaels) there live.

But she won't be releasing that song in the United States, and right now, she has no plans to tour in her native country either.

"I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not. Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me," she said. "Kind of going to the places where I get the most love. Don't want to go anywhere where I don't feel completely comfortable with it."

Miley Cyrus meets her impression as 'SNL' host

Miley Cyrus has met her "Saturday Night Live" impression while lampooning a fellow teen pop star herself.

Cyrus hosted "SNL" on NBC Saturday night, leading to an inevitable face-off between the 18-year-old singer and cast member Vanessa Bayer's parody.

But Cyrus appeared on Bayer's "The Miley Cyrus Show" not as herself, but 17-year-old Justin Bieber.

(TODAYshow.com is part of msnbc.com, which is a joint venture of Microsoft and NBC Universal.)

Cyrus played Bieber as too hip to use Bayer's enthusiastic "pretty cool" catch phrase.

In other sketches, Cyrus also played Fergie and Lindsay Lohan.

Her Lohan impression occurred during a sketch with cast members portraying Charlie Sheen as the host of a TV show called "Duh! Winning!" with Lohan, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and fashion designer John Galliano as guests.

Billy Ray Cyrus "Hannah Montana' destroyed family"

Billy Ray Cyrus says the Disney TV show "Hannah Montana" destroyed his family causing his divorce and sending daughter Miley Cyrus spinning out of control.

In a December interview published in the Feb. 22 issue of GQ Magazine, Cyrus said he wished the show that launched his daughter to pop stardom had never happened.

"I hate to say it, but yes, I do. Yeah. I'd take it back in a second," Cyrus said. "For my family to be here and just be everybody OK, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah. I'd erase it all in a second if I could."

Cyrus and his wife, Tish, filed for divorce in October. They have three kids together Miley is the oldest and two from Tish's previous marriage.

Billy Ray Cyrus said when he asked about the rumored video footage of his daughter smoking from a bong at her 18th birthday party in December, he was told it was none of his business. He refused to attend the party, saying it was wrong to have it in a bar.

Cyrus, a native of Flatwoods, Ky., had his own success as a country singer beginning in the early 1990s with his huge hit "Achy Breaky Heart."

Cyrus says in the interview that he tried too hard to be a friend instead of a parent to his daughter. He said he is scared for Miley and compared her current path to those of other stars whose lives ended tragically, including Kurt Cobain, Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson.

"I should have been a better parent," Cyrus said. "I should have said, 'Enough is enough it's getting dangerous and somebody's going to get hurt.' I should have, but I didn't. Honestly, I didn't know the ball was out of bounds until it was way up in the stands somewhere."

He said his entire family was baptized before leaving Tennessee for Los Angeles to protect themselves from evil, and he believes Satan is attacking his family.

"It's the way it is," Cyrus said. "There has always been a battle between good and evil. Always will be. You think, 'This is a chance to make family entertainment, bring families together ...' and look what it's turned into."
